🚲 Rental and prices

Yes, English is one of our key strengths; our team speaks fluent English and regularly assists international tourists, with staff members who have lived and worked or studied in both the UK and the US.
Additionally, our front-desk team holds B2 and C1 Cambridge certifications.

The price depends on the bike type and the rental duration: we offer daily and multi-day rates. All bikes include flat pedals, a lock, and a repair kit.
Our prices range from €25 to €65 per day, excluding extra accessories (helmet, clipless pedals, and rear panniers).

Rental pricing is per calendar day, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. We do not offer hourly or half-day rates.

Yes, it is possible; however, no discount will be applied to the full daily rental rate.

Yes, an automatic discount on the daily price is applied from the 4th day onward.

Based on our experience, 1- to 2-day bookings made far in advance carry a much higher risk of cancellation. To avoid this issue, we have restricted short-term bookings on the website. They can only be made directly through our team via email or phone, no more than 7 days prior to the pick-up date.
Per ovviare a questo inconveniente abbiamo deciso di bloccarle dal sito e di prenderle solo ed esclusivamente tramite il nostro personale via email o telefonicamente con un preavviso massimo di 7 giorni dalla data del ritiro.

Yes, you can book through the "Rental" on our website or via email. However, to complete the process, a 30% security deposit of the total amount is required, which will be requested by our team via email.

Regardless of how you book — whether by phone, email, or through our website — the request must first be approved by our team and then officially confirmed by you upon payment of a 30% security deposit of the total order.

🧳 Bike Types & Accessories

We offer E-Bike (E-Mtb, E-Gravel, E-Road), Gravel (aluminum, carbon, and carbon with electronic shifting), MTBs, bici da Trekking and road bikes e bici da stradaall professionally inspected prior to each rental.

The following are always included:
1. Flat pedals;
2. Lock;
3. Kit of repairing (punctures).

Extra accessories available for rent:
• Clip pedals (Shimano SPD for MTB, Shimano SPD-SL for road, Look KEO for road);
• Helmet;
• Panniers.

Unfortunately, no. Rear panniers require a sturdy luggage rack that must be mounted using frame-threaded eyelets.
Rack mounting eyelets are only available on our aluminum bicycles.

You must already know how to ride a bicycle and have basic experience operating bicycle gears.
For less experienced riders, we always recommend e-MTBs, traditional MTBs, or touring bikes—these feature flat handlebars with straightforward shifters and offer a more upright, comfortable riding position.
Given the terrain around Siena (never fully flat, featuring continuous rolling hills), we strongly advise against rentals for individuals with mobility difficulties or young children, as our fleet consists exclusively of adult bikes.

🚐 Delivery and pick up

Yes, upon request, we offer bike delivery and pick-up directly to your accommodation anywhere in the province of Siena or beyond. However, delivery inside the historic city center is excluded due to specific ZTL (restricted traffic zone) permit requirements.

The cost depends on the distance from our shop, starting at a minimum of €20 per trip (delivery = 1 trip; delivery + pick-up = 2 trips).
The trip cost is calculated by multiplying the distance from the shop in kilometers (determined via Google Maps by our staff) by a coefficient close to 2.
Example: For accommodation located 20 km away: 20 km x coef. 2 = = €40 per trip.

Siena Bike Shop is located at Via Nino Bixio, 30 – 53100, Siena a strategic starting point for tours and bike pick-ups, as we are right next to the historic city center and within easy walking distance for anyone staying nearby.
We are also easily accessible for guests arriving by train or public transport, located just 500 meters from the station.
Finally, for those arriving by car, the shop faces a secondary public street featuring free parking (no charge) on both sides.
Simply search for "Siena Bike Shop" in your navigation app, and you'll easily find us!

🗺️ Routes and suggestions

We recommend routes through the Chianti hills, the Crete Senesi, the Val d’Orcia, and along the Via Francigena. We can provide tips or customized itineraries tailored to all types of requirements.

Yes, all of our bikes are suitable for riding on strade bianche and dirt tracks, with the exception of road bikes, which for obvious reasons should stay on asphalt. However, even road bikes can occasionally handle short stretches of unpaved road.

🔧 Safety & Maintenance

Yes, all bicycles are washed, fully serviced, and professionally inspected before every ride, including helmets and accessories.

Apart from flat tires — for which we provide a complete repair kit with a new inner tube, that we assume the rider knows how to replace — we offer prompt technical assistance for all other mechanical issues.
If the breakdown is due to a bicycle defect or component failure, we will cover the repair costs. However, if the breakdown is caused by improper use by the rider, the customer will be responsible for the expenses incurred (labor time, component replacement costs, and transport to and from the customer's location).

In the event of damage to the bicycle, the customer must pay for the repairs immediately, with costs assessed directly in the shop by our staff.
Currently, under Italian regulations, rental companies are not permitted to offer insurance coverage for theft or damage caused by the renter.
We strongly advise securing a short-term personal insurance policy to cover accidental damage and theft before setting off.
